Dear Internet,

Please stop screaming. I've tried ear plugs and salt baths, aromatheraputic tinctures, paper bag blow. A broom tail to algorithmic ceilings. Shoulders slumped over organs, barely thrumming. Predators chew into weakened arms for fight, for flight. Fingers tap your screen. Beg for attention. Come find what's left of me under the bed.

The Empath's Hat is All the Rage

I paint my nails to keep from biting, a muted color to blend in with existing flesh.

Somewhere there's a memory of remaining seated next to a stranger who shit on himself.

Shhh, my sister said as we walked by him, masturbating on his bike.

In dreams I felt her anguish hold my body hard into pillows.

There's more on the stove if you are hungry.
