Things to do while you are placed on hold

Sing along with the on hold music.

Pass the phone over to an unsuspecting stranger so they can wait on the line for you. Reward them with a plate of freshly baked peanut butter cookies.

Consider the feeling of the phone on your ear. Feel your earring dig sharply into your neck.

Count how many times you have crossed and uncrossed your legs.

In preparation for a major deep sea event, practice holding your breath.

Draw a portrait of your knees.

Write a letter to your grandmother.

Learn to count to 20 in three languages.

Take a nap.

Pack a picnic and head to the park.

Hang up and try again later.

Happy Spring

Although I've come down with the stomach flu and only have the energy to move between chair/bed to toilet and back, spring has sprung. And that means all the yuck that infiltrates my work place and Beckett's daycare might die off. It also means that days will get warmer, flowers will explode, and the slow unveiling of knees will make its way onto the streets of America.

This series by Charles Frager from his book Europe's Wild Men makes me want to don something in the fur, flower and stick variety while I sip lemon water from bed. I'm thinking this would definitely make me feel better.

Go outside. Good things happen outside.
