Some suggestions: Pick up a rock and pop it into your mouth. Suck on it as if it were a piece of hard candy.

Spend a hour on your back on a hardwood floor

Lay your head on a stranger's lap.

Eat a banana veeerrryyy slowly.

Whistle the same note while cooking dinner (my grandma millie used to do this)

Sit on the edge of a table. Convince yourself if you were to jump off of the table you would fall into a deep canyon and perish.

Dress up as a baby and visit a nursing home.

momma

mama.jpg

I wasn't anticipating taking such a long break from updating this blog-nog, but things happen. My mom was in town for almost a month and rather than spending my free time tinkering on the interweb and playing artist in my studio, I hung with her. No regrets there. I love the shit outta my mamma-jamma. At 4:30am, after dreaming I was taking a shower with a creepy version of my ex while desperately trying to find a drink of water, I woke up, drove my mom to the airport and smooched her goodbye. I'm surely going to miss her. When she is here she:

Makes me tea and breakfast before I go to work

Watches Beckett while I go to the bathroom

Teaches Beckett how to bark like a dog, meow like a cat, and pick her nose

Cooks yumsome vegetarian dinners

Joins me for lunch on my lunch break

Washes and irons my curtains

Helps me sew things I haven't been able to get around to in a while

Washes and folds my laundry - even my dirty old raggedy undies

Listens to me bitch about stuff

Curls up on the couch and watches The Voice or Storage Wars with a small cup of ice cream, seltzer, and whipped cream

Jams out to Bruce Springsteen on studio headphones while sewing pajamas, aprons, dresses, and whatever else out of the kindness of her heart for her family, friends, and strangers.

urine wheel

urine_wheel_sq-e9334414382525163912a94e6aa4c6ef4428e36f-s4.jpeg

My friend Michelle sent me THIS article today about the colors and shapes found inside toilets. The article gives all sorts of juicy information about number ones and number twos and there is a delightful "urine wheel" from the 16th century (see image to your right). I'd love to blow this up and hang it in the kitchen.
