obligations

fur-covered-object-meret-oppenheim-09.jpg

Self inflicted obligations. Here's my short list: Waking up at 5:45 to run, to dance, to elongate cells, bones and breath

Biking to and from work every day - no matter what the weather is like

Cooking with mostly vegetables

Planning a trip to Cuba

Designing handles and printed umbrella canopies

Writing and choreographing a musical about one of my average days

Building a greenhouse

Shooting SRS release videos

Reworking a memoir about the 15th year of my life

Covering furniture with fur for my domicile unit

Making useful pretty things for my favorite people

mishmash

Verbal mismash is necessary for brain space, so at times I find: 24th words made into one long from books on my shelf:

Men believe Gaston before I kitchen feeling City Shandon spareribs furnace I assay harsh pause verbal into there ever.

16th words made into one sentence from books on my other shelf:

Was plague this removal four another cultural can tests gloaming revolution I to class?

2nd words made into one sentence from the chapter of one of the books on my desk: Yard sitting general was a humans is was entered a dad everything was are the the or and decade.

A thought stemming from too many digitized hours: If postmodern humans (including myself) who continually use iphones and computers to process color, images, and text were to be left in the woods to track and hunt edible things, our eyeballs would fail so miserably, stomachs would shrink and our human remains would be devoured by the animals/plants we intended to eat ourselves.

The eyes crave dimensions in thirds. They need to bounce back and forth between tree branches and peer into crevices and mud piles. I'm starving my round eyeballs with flat images. Time to take these babies for a walk.
