whale

humpback-whale-off-the-coast-o.jpg

A dream I had: I'm on a small boat with four strangers. We are bumping along the roiling sea. The sun pierces my forehead. Close to the right of the boat I see a humpback whale emerge from the surface. Its head comes up first, and slowly the rest of its body dives down. I watch as the whale's spine rolls into the depths of the sea. I am so amazed by this creature, I begin to weep. What seems to be seconds later, I see another whale close to the left side of the boat. It has been chopped in half like a baguette sandwich. Where its top section used to be, are seats (like on a bus) for tourists. The captain of the whale whips it into submission. The whale bites down on a bit normally worn by horses. People applaud. I am so ashamed of their clapping, I hide my face.

Go outside. Good things happen outside.
