In the last two days I have spent a total of 18 hours working for money in an umbrella factory. It's been slightly soul zapping, but at least I can save for a trip to Indonesia.

My brother's birthday is today. He is the wittiest 15 year old in Vancouver BC and I love him and his furry companion Bubba immensely.
I read three books (The Lake by Yasunari Kawabata, The Invention of Everything Else by Samantha Hunt, and The Journey of Ibn Fattouma by Naguib Mahfouz), a stack of New Yorkers and two trashy and entertaining tabloids on my trip to the big island.
After making myself sick with another one of my rich meals - roasted black cod and creamy mushroom polenta - I turned myself off of consuming animal parts and pieces for a while. All I want to eat is salad and lentils.
Tonight I will dream in Cat purr.
