Perhaps instead of padding the pockets of rapacious corporations with tax dollars, our lame government should put all those hundreds of billions of dollars into creating jobs in environmental research, arts, agricultural, world religion, health, and cooking education in public schools, renewable energy, organic and local farming, small business development, and broader recycling programs in all states. Not only will these jobs boost our horrendous reputation with the rest of the world, but Americans will inexorably learn to spend less, waste less, and, in turn learn to live more sustainable lives.
