Country Girls

One leg taller than the other, still a hobbled home run. The lake lobster pinches fingers. Algae slimes silk dresses alongside boiled worms. No shoes. Or socks. It’s a mid-day party with cobbed corn and fiddling. Ring around the saw mill. Horses shade themselves in Hollywood stables. Dentures glisten. White oaks rustle.
