People get tuckered. I get tuckered, you get tuckered. And when we get tuckered, we need a break for napping, taking an aimless walk, sipping tea, petting a llama, or doing nothing at all. Which is why, beginning in March, I'll be carving out a few hours a week to over-worked folks interested in taking a break. My services will be free. This idea came to me a while back when I was living in NYC after having several conversations with cab drivers, dishwashers and small business owners who, because of one reason or another (low pay, hospital bills, rent, family expenses, school loans, etc.), over-worked themselves to make ends meet. One dishwasher in particular, Julio, worked two jobs, 14 to 17 hour days - 7 days a week and hadn't had a day of in three years. More recently, upon learning that one of the owner's of my favorite Ethiopian restaurant - Queen of Sheba - hadn't had a day off in a year, decided it would be best if I offered her a few hours of repose.
